Maharajas' Express Heritage of India itinerary offer insights into the rich heritage and culture of India.
Starting from Mumbai, the train crisscrosses through the medieval caves of Ajanta, forts and Palaces of Rajasthan and the majestic Taj Mahal during the Heritage of India Tour.
The highlight of the tour includes cultural immersion during local sightseeing tours, insider experiences such as sundowner cocktails amidst sand dunes and Exhibition Elephant Polo Match and some shopping experiences among others.

Guests boarding the Maharaja Express have to report at least an hour before the train's departure at a pre-assigned venue in Mumbai for the pre-boarding facilities. All final details related to the meeting point will be emailed or handed over along with the journey's travel vouchers and documents, around 14 days before the departure date.
Day 1 Mumbai
Welcome to a regal journey aboard the Maharajas Express as you embark on Heritage of India tour. In the evening you will check in and enjoy a warm welcome even as you complete your registration formalities. Proceed towards Ajanta, your first destination in the circuit.

Day 2 Ajanta
After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Ajanta Caves, the rock-cut caves dating back to 2nd century B.C. and comprising of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain sculpted art.

Day 3 Udaipur
Post breakfast; embark on a sightseeing tour to the City Palace complex and Crystal gallery. The royal lunch served in the gallery restaurant of the Fateh Prakash Palace forms the crescendo of the day. Post lunch, you have an option to go on a walking tour across the old bazaar, market, of the Udaipur city or visit the vintage car collection or royal family or take delight in Son-et-Lumiere program at City Palace.

Day 4 Jodhpur
4th day of the tour itinerary, you will arrive in the sun city of Rajasthan-Jodhpur. Post a delectable brunch and a lavish lunch, embark on an expedition to the Old Clock Tower Market followed by a leisurely trip across the Mehrangarh Fort. Dinner is scheduled at a 5-star hotel followed by an optional tour of the Rohet Garh village, home to Bishnoi tribe.
Later, return to train for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 Bikaner
Arrival in the city, you can take an optional tour to either Deshnok temples or Lalgarh Palace Museum or Camel breeding farm or choose to shop for Kundan jewelry.
In the afternoon, you will head to the Junagarh Fort.
Post lunch, take a ride on a camel cart nearby Sam sand dunes. Later in the evening, enjoy a sand dune excursion followed by cultural performances by the Kalbeliya and Langa artists accompanied with sundowner cocktails and barbecue dinner.

Day 6 Udaipur
Today, the train reaches Udaipur, famous for being one of India's most romantic cities. Breakfast on-board, followed by a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit some of the most popular tourist attractions of this 'City of Lakes'. Visit the City Palace, and later Fateh Prakash Palace, known for housing the stunning Crystal Gallery, owning world's single largest private collection of crystal. Thereafter, you enjoy a leisure walk through the picturesque old city streets. The evening is scheduled for a boat ride in the placid waters of the Lake Pichola. Overnight on-board the train.
Day 7 Vadodara
On the 7th day, the train enters Vadodara, the city of the Gaekwads. Once you have your breakfast, get down from the train to indulge in sightseeing, including city's popular attractions such as the beautiful Jama Masjid. You also get a chance to explore the historic city of Gujarat, Champaner, founded way back in the 8th century. Here you visit the World Heritage site of Pavagadh Archaeological Park. The last visit of the day is to the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. City tour is followed by an enthralling folk dance performance at the Laxmi Vilas Palace and then sumptuous dinner including a wide range of authentic Gujarati dishes from the kitchen of the royalty. Day 8 Mumbai
Upon arrival in Mumbai, complete the checkout formalities, after breakfast. De-board. The journey ends here
Golden Treasure Journey

Day 1 Assembling at Delhi Cantt Station- Agra
After you arrive in capital, assemble at the Delhi Cantt Railway Station where you would enjoy a warm welcome with a Tikka and a garland. After completing the check-in formalities get aboard the train and settle yourself in your designated cabin. Relish the welcome drink and explore this scintillating luxury train. The train chugs off from the train towards Agra, the first destination of the itinerary.
Day 2 Agra
On the 2nd day of the tour, the train arrives in the Mughal City of Agra, which is extremely popular for housing some of the most magnificent structures, the architectural marvels of the Mughal times. After breakfast, the first visit is to the white marble mausoleum of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Later, visit the Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, fondly known as the 'Baby Taj', followed by the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Agra Fort. The next visit is to another World Heritage Site of the Fatehpur Sikri, founded by Emperor Akbar in 1569. Back on the train for an overnight stay.
Day 3 Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore)- Jaipur
Today, the train reaches Sawai Madhopur. De-board the train to visit the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, now world-popular Ranthambore National Park, known for housing the big cats in great numbers. After morning and afternoon wildlife safari, you continue your journey towards the beautiful capital city of the royal Rajasthan, Jaipur, also known as the 'Pink City'. Visit the popular palaces and later the bustling local bazaars to collecting interesting souvenirs such as imitation jewelry, apparels, gems, handicrafts etc. after a gala dinner at a special venue, back to the train for an overnight stay.
Day 4 New Delhi
On the last day, the train arrives back to Delhi. After relishing breakfast on-board, complete the check-out formalities and de-board the train. The journey comes to an end

Day 01 Mumbai (Arrival)

Day 02: Aurangabad
On the 2nd day of Maharashtra Splendor, proceed on a visit Ellora Caves, a popular UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ellora Caves are a unique artistic creation and exhibits a seamless blend of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain heritage. Apart from these caves, you will visit Bibi ka Maqbara, a replica of the Taj Mahal. Day 03: Tadoba Tiger Reserve

Day 04: Ajanta Caves
Upon your arrival at Jalgaon Railway Station, leave by road to Ajanta Caves, a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. These magnificent caves exhibit the ancient murals and sculptures that depict the life of Buddha. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
Day 05: Nashik
The day 5 is scheduled for a trip to Nashik, popularly known as the 'Vineyard of India'. Later, proceed for a Champagne tour followed by lunch. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
Day 06: Kolhapur
On the 6th day of Maharashtra Splendor, you will arrive in Kolhapur, a growing cosmopolitan with a royal past. The places that you will visit include the New Palace, the Town Hall Museum and the Mahalaxmi Temple. Besides, you can witness a traditional martial art performance known as 'Mardani Khel'. Day 07: Goa
On the 7th day, you will reach Goa, famous for its beaches, temples and churches. Start your day with an Old Goa tour where you'll visit places such as Basilica of Bom Jesus and St. Augustine Church. Later, enjoy a walking tour to the old Latin quarters known as Fontanhas. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
Day 08: Mumbai (Departure)
On the 8th day, Deccan Odyssey will drop you back at Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus, where your journey will come to an end.

Day 01: Mumbai
Upon you arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, board the train and start your journey towards Badami, famous for its rock-cut caves. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
Day 02: Badami
Upon your arrival at Badami, de-board the train and embark on a sightseeing tour of Pattadakal and Aihole-known for its ancient settlements and beautiful temples. The temple complex at Aihole and has the potential to be included as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village has 125 temples segregated into 22 groups by the archaeological department. On the other hand, Pattadakal is famous for the monuments built during the reign of Chalukya dynasty. Post sightseeing, return back to the train for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Badami
In the morning, disembark the train and visit the rock-cut caves and sculpted temples in Badami. Some popular monuments include Badami Fort, Malegatti Shivalaya, The Dattatreya Temple, The Mallikarjuna Temple and the temple of Banashankari. Post sightseeing, return to the train and depart for Hospet.
Day 04: Hospet
Today, Deccan Odyssey will take you to the hot spots of Hospet. Start by visiting Hampi, the famous City of Victory. The city is located within the ruins of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Here you'll get to see important palaces and impressive temples such as Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple and Krishna Temple. Post sightseeing, return back to Hospet for dinner and travel down to Bijapur.
Day 05: Bijapur
On the day 5, Deccan Odyssey will bring you into the heart of Bijapur, the historic capital of the Sultan of the Deccan. De-board the train and embark on a sightseeing tour of Bijapur which include visits to Gol Gumbaz, Ibrahim Rauza, Malik-e-Maidan, Gagan Mahal and Saat Khabar. Post sightseeing, return to the train for onwards journey, Dinner and overnight stay onboard the train in Bijapur.
Day 06: Hyderabad
Today, in the morning, disembark the train and visit Hyderabad, the Royal City of the Nizams. Later, take an excursion to Pochampally, the place popular for its Pochampally Ikat style saris and threads. In the evening, visit the famous Charminar and explore the sights and sounds of Hyderabad on foot. Later, return back to the train for dinner and night stay.
Day 07: Hyderabad
In the morning, embark on a sightseeing tour to explore the magnificent ruins of the Golconda Fort. Golconda is located 11 kilometers west of Hyderabad. In the afternoon, the train chugs its way towards Mumbai.
Day 08: Mumbai ( Departure )
On the 8th day, you will return back to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, where your journey comes to an end.
Hidden Treasures of Gujarat Journey

One of the most colorful states in India, Gujarat is known for its abundance of wealth depicted through its picturesque landscape, great historical sites and long stretches of coastal lines. Beginning from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the week long journey will cover famous tourist places in Gujarat which include Vadodara, Bhavanagar, Sasan Gir, Little Rann of Kutch and Ahmedabad. Some popular attractions that you will come across include the World Heritage Site of Champaner-Pavagadh, historic monuments at Palitana and Modhera and shoot Lions at Sasan Gir Wildlife Sanctuary.
Day 01: Mumbai ( Arrival )
Upon your arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, board the train and begin your journey towards the royal city of the Gaekwads, Vadodara. Overnight stay and dinner on board the train.
Day 02: Vadodara
On the 2nd day, take a road trip to Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient town is full of archaeological remains. Later, you will be taken to the magnificent Laxmi Vilas Palace for a high tea. Laxmi Vilas Palace is the erstwhile residence of the Royal Family. It was constructed when Gaekwad prominent Maratha family started ruling the Baroda state. Overnight stay and dinner on board the train.
Day 03: Bhavnagar
On the 3rd day, Deccan Odyssey will enter the precincts of Bhavnagar. Later, take an excursion to Palitana, a town famous for its spectacular cluster of Jain temples built entirely out of marble. Overnight Stay and dinner on board the train.
Day 04: Sasan Gir
Upon your arrival in Sasan Gir, take an excursion to the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, the famed home to the only surviving population of Asiatic Lions and a myriad variety of birds and other creatures. Overnight Stay and dinner on board the train.
Day 05: Little Run of Kutch
The day 5 is scheduled with a trip to the Little Rann of Kutch, a salty marshland located near the Great Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The Little Rann of Kutch is famous as the world's largest refuge of the Indian Wild Ass (Khur). Apart from this, there are villages and settlements renowned for their traditional embroideries and weaving. Overnight stay and dinner on board the train.
Day 06: Modhera
Early morning, on the 6th day, take a road trip towards the 11th century Sun Temple and the Rani-ka-Vav step well, the finest example of cavernous architecture for water management. In the afternoon, you'll have a chance for exploring the Veechar Utensils Museum displaying utensils that dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Day 07: Ahmedabad
On the 7th day, arrive in Ahmedabad and proceed towards the beautiful Sabarmati Ashram, which played a pivotal role in India's fight for freedom.
